The Preweld group of companies are delighted that you have taken the time to visit our web site. Preweld started trading back in 1979 in Pretoria Central. The company, under the two previous owners sold welding equipment and consumables, safety equipment, welding machines and industrial gases. For many years Preweld was a family run business. Although it had limited growth over the years, it was a well-run company and provided an ideal platform for someone to take the business to the next level…

New ownership came into effect in mid 2000. With a structured sales and marketing effort sales began to increase dramatically. Realignment to Air Products as the principal supplier of Industrial and Speciality Gases was concluded. A move to larger premises in Pretoria West was inevitable and a move to the current address of 317 Mitchell Street was completed. Management saw a strong growth pattern into LPG gases, Industrial Gases and just like the Pretoria operation, included a full range of welding equipment and consumables.

Preweld Rosslyn in Pretoria was opened to relieve some of the pressure delivering from the Pretoria West area over to the fast growing area of Rosslyn and surrounds. The increase in sales in such a short period of time was very encouraging and has paved the way for more satellite distribution stores. Preweld Sunderland Ridge (near Midrand in Johannesburg) opened its doors for business to cater for the industrial and commercial areas on the Pretoria / Johannesburg border.
